Abstract
This paper discusses a general cultural mechanism that defines change in sociology and social sciences. To do this, I summarize the exposition that I made of this fractal mechanism in the book Chaos of Disciplines, and then I propose some extensions to locate that mechanism in the more general approach of social scientific knowledge that I have developed in recent years, in an attempt to incorporate it into a broader context.
