Abstract

This article presents a systematic review of the available software for qualitative data analysis, with the aim of identifying the most suitable one for the process of systematizing materials with pre-digital formats and composition. To this end, various exclusion criteria were applied to twenty-four qualitative analysis tools, and a systematization test was conducted to assess their advantages and limitations in managing documents of this nature. This can serve as a guide for research that uses extracontemporary documents and seeks to integrate technology into the analytical phase of qualitative research. The importance of critical reflection on the selection and use of technological tools is emphasized, as their incorporation into research processes not only transforms analysis methods but also carries ethical, methodological, and social implications.

Ana Slimovich , Instituto de Investigaciones Gino Germani (IIGG), Universidad de Buenos Aires - CONICET, Argentina

Doctor in Social Sciences and Graduate in Communication Sciences from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA, Argentina). She is an Associate Researcher at CONICET at the Gino Germani Research Institute. She received the "National Award for the Best Doctoral Thesis in Social Sciences", EUDEBA and UBA (2019): "The crossroads of Latin American democracy".

She directs the research projects PIBAA-CONICET (IIGG): "Contemporary mediatization in social networks" and PICT (IIGG): "The Argentine elections in the framework of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021".

She was a visiting professor and carried out postdoctoral research stays at the Ibero-American Institute of the University of Salamanca (2019), at the Faculty of Communication of the University of Málaga (2020), at the Center for Ibero-American and Transatlantic Studies of the University of Málaga ( 2022), in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Communication Technologies of the Metropolitan Technological University of Santiago de Chile (2022) and in the Department of Sociology, Political Science and Public Administration and in the Doctoral Program in Social and Political Studies of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of the Catholic University of Temuco (2023).

She is an undergraduate and graduate professor at the UBA and the University of San Andrés.

She is the author of the book: “Social networks, television and Argentine elections” from Editorial Eudeba (2022).
